Córka montażystki Monique Bonnot, znanej ze współpracy z reżyserem Jean-Pierrem Melvillem.Françoise rozpoczęła pracę w branży właśnie od asystowania matce przy pracy nad jego filmami, by później już samodzielnie zmontować jego Armię cieni (1969).
9 de jun. de 2018 · Françoise Bonnot (17 August 1939 – 9 June 2018) was a French film editor with more than 40 feature film credits. Bonnot was the daughter of Monique Bonnot, a film editor noted for several films directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. In her first film credit, Françoise Bonnot was the assistant to her mother on Melville's 1959 film, Two Men in Manhattan (1959).
A French editor best known for her frequent collaborations with director Costa-Gavras, Bonnot edited nine of his films as well as work including The Tenant (1976), Top Secret! (1984) and Across the Universe (2007). She won a BAFTA for her work on Missing (1982), and also received a nomination for Z (1969). Read Francoise Bonnot's Hollywood Reporter obituary here.
Françoise Bonnot kam aus einer dem Kino verbundenen Familie. So war sie die Tochter der französischen Editorin Monique Bonnot, die mehrere Filme für den Regisseur Jean-Pierre Melville schnitt. Sie war mit dem französisch-armenischen Regisseur Henri Verneuil verheiratet und der gemeinsame Sohn Patrick Malakian wurde ebenfalls Regisseur.
