21 de dic. de 2019 · Aufgenommen vom 16. bis 23.01.1991 in den Seagrape Recording Studios Chicago. Die Songs sind alle Bluesstandards. Sie wurden gezielt für die Musiker von The Pretty Things und “The Yardbirds” ausgesucht. Auf den ersten Alben der zwei Bands gab es ähnliche Musik zu hören.
Einzig Slim Harpo's eher schnarchnasig tönendes "Scratch my back" - der Track fehlt signifikanterweise auf der 2015er Neuauflage der Scheibe - und die monotone Diddley-Nummer "Diddley Daddy" fallen gegen den Rest der Titel ab. Ob es sich bei "The Chicago Blues Tapes 1991" um eine "enorme Bereicherung für die Pretty Things- und Yardbirds-Sammlung" (Good Times 1/1992) handelt, sei dahingestellt.

Pretty Things - Yardbird Blues Band - 1991 Chicago Blues tapes This is a good listen here. Fine collection of tracks both blues and rock that is very well played and a good add to your collection. The reference to Yardbird is correct is the singular as only Jim McCarty is present to represent the Yardbirds group.
