9 de feb. de 2007 · If you love Renaissance you won't need to read this and you won't want to. I enjoyed Renaissance in the 70s and wanted a selection on CD as my vinyl playing days are over. So these compilations (1001 Nights Vol 1 and 2) looked ideal, but I have to draw the conclusion that their sell by date is past. Annie Haslem's voice was amazing - true.
20 de abr. de 2014 · Tales of 1001 Nights Vol. 1 & 2 are fantastic samplers for a truly wonderful band, here's why I give it three stars. It needs to be remastered pronto! It sounds like somebody picked the tracks, tossed it into the machine, set the dials, hit the button and then went out for coffee and a sandwich.
A decent compilation, when considered along with its sibling release, Tales of 1001 Nights - Vol. II, but with a substantial caveat. That is, since the two compilations are budget back-catalog releases by Sire, they only contain material initially released in the USA by Sire, which Sire had the rights to- meaning Turn of the Cards through Azure d'Or, 1974-79, five studio albums and one live album.
