Plot Overview. Citizen Kane opens with the camera panning across a spooky, seemingly deserted estate in Florida called Xanadu. The camera lingers on a "No Trespassing" sign and a large "K" wrought on the gate, then gradually makes its way to the house, where it appears to pass through a lit window. A person is lying on a slab-like bed.

Criterion’s original pressing for their Blu-ray edition of Citizen Kane featured an error: around 24-minutes in the contrast flattens out and washes everything in a gray, leading to a flattened image with no depth and a loss in detail. This looks to have been a case of a bad HDR-to-SDR conversion.

I guess everything we needed know about Welles classic we already know, through this site or other sites, books, documentaries, and the film itself. It remains a mandatory picture and it never gets old. "The Complete Citizen Kane" is very well-made, worth watching and worth having if you can find it. 8/10
