After listening to Consolers of the Lonely and comparing it to Jack White's latest two albums it's a shame that he was capable of some of the best Garage Rock had to offer and went down a different direction for them. The only time I think it paid off was on Boarding House Reach, that album clicked so hard for me it's been on my top 100 ever since.. This album moves me the same way Boarding ...
7 de mar. de 2008 · Ordered The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely and instead got The Saboteurs - Consolers of the Lonely. Did a quick web search to find out that this must be an Australian version of the CD because the band had to use a different name there due to a name infringement case that couldn't be resolved.
Consolers of the Lonely est le deuxième album du groupe de Rock The Raconteurs paru en 2008. Le titre provient d'une inscription dans un bureau de poste de Washington, écrite par Charles William Eliott : “Messenger of sympathy and love, servant of parted friends, consoler of the lonely, bond of the scattered family, enlarge of the common life” [ 1 ] .
With Consolers of the Lonely, the Raconteurs are still content to play record-collection plunderers, but instead of ripping what they can from the '60s, they spend much of the album as twenty-first-century stand-ins for Grand Funk Railroad, Blue Oyster Cult and Three Dog Night, playing big, limp, calculated rock 'n’ roll.
