25 de jul. de 2018 · Reduxer contains 11 reinterpretations of songs from the band's third album, Relaxer, reimagined by a variety of hip hop artists and producers including Little Simz, Pusha T, Tuka, Alchemist, Goldlink, Kontra K and others. Relaxer was recorded in London with producer Charlie Andrew, who also produced Alt-J's first two albums.

18 de oct. de 2018 · REDUXER doesn’t appear conform to any convention that we have heard from the group before, but Alt-J have succeeded in maintaining their unique identity on each of the diverse tracks. It’s ambient/punk/hip hop/dance soundtrack is a fluently produced demonstration of what well fused genres can achieve in creating original music.
27 de sept. de 2018 · Last year, I wrote about my disappointment in the source material for this remix LP - Alt-J’s third album proper, RELAXER. Happily, REDUXER re-imagines that record as a globally infused hip-hop post-op cut of the eight originals, plus three further versions of “3WW”, “In Cold Blood” and “Hit Me Like That Snare” to breathe life and reflect better on the prototype.
After the 2018 Relaxer remix album Reduxer, Alt-J returned to new music with 2022's emotionally resonant The Dream. First formed in 2008 under the moniker FILMS, the founding quartet -- all of whom met at Leeds University -- spent two years rehearsing before inking a deal with Infectious Records in 2011.
