Some of the last two records flaws are still there (mainly the dated production), and the last three tracks don’t live up to the rest of the record, but Ray finally finds himself as a pop-rock songwriter here, and this thing manages to play with many different genres throughout its entirely, so like most of the Kinks records, it works ...
