After Orcs under the commands of Shagrat and Gorbag came close to destroying one another in Shagrat's Tower, Shagrat himself escaped with Bilbo's Mithril-shirt and other tokens he had taken from Frodo.He succeeded in crossing Gorgoroth and bringing his tokens to the Dark Lord, in sufficient time that the Mouth of Sauron was able to produce them at the Morannon eleven days later.
