Midge Ure, pseudonimo di James Ure (Cambuslang, 10 ottobre 1953), è un chitarrista e cantautore britannico.. È noto per essere stato il chitarrista dei Visage dal 1978 al 1980 ed il chitarrista e cantante degli Ultravox dal 1980 al 1987 e dal 2009 in poi. Il nome d'arte Midge non è altro che "Jim" letto al contrario (Mij) e trasposto foneticamente.

You could make the case that this is the very best of Midge Ure, but If I Was doesn’t even represent the best of Ultravox with Midge Ure, let alone Ultravox. For that, you’ll have to refer to The Collection; as far as the best of Ultravox from the beginning, it’s still an opportunity open for someone.
I always felt Midge Ure is under-rated as he has had an amazing career, but considering he was co-founder of Band Aid, I believe he doesn't get the same recognition Bob Geldof and he is very much over-looked. I recommend this album to any one who is being introduced to the group or Midge Ure, it has most of their hits from the 80's and 90's
