Sad to say, bass guitarist John Rostill died tragically from an overdose in 1973, never living to see the success of some of his work; but with core members Hank, Bruce and Brian, The Shadows continued to play for more than 40 years.
John Rostill died in Radlett, Hertfordshire, England, on 26 November 1973 aged 31. He was found dead from barbiturate poisoning in his recording studio by his wife and Bruce Welch.
