16 de jul. de 2014 · At some point I snatched up a copy of Mark Lanegan’s “The Winding Sheet” and just as rapidly discarded it given, at the time, my tastes were pushing further and further into the territory of Swans, Throbbing Gristle, Sonic Youth at their most caustic and had little space for Lanegan’s sparser and more country-influenced take on rock.

In November 2020, a 1973 Fender Mustang smashed onstage by Cobain during Nirvana’s American tour in 1989 sold at auction for $486,400 at Julien’s Auctions’ ‘Icons and Idols: Rock ‘N’ Roll’ event.
1 de may. de 2019 · Oggi non volevo parlare di Kurt Cobain ma poi, avendo avuto l’occasione di scrivere un articolo su “The Winding Sheet”, uscito il 1 Maggio 1990, mi trovo costretto a parlarne e di come egli illuminò un’intera scena con la sua morte.Infatti quando Cobain morì, Lanegan aveva appena pubblicato “Whisky For The Holy Ghost”, perciò lo ascoltammo tutti, chi ce l’aveva in cd originale ...
4 de abr. de 2009 · The Winding Sheet ha solo il grande svantaggio, come del resto chi l’ha ispirato, di non essere un album conosciuto ai più. Un vero peccato perché è una perla indimenticabile, come lo saranno altri lavori solisti di Lanegan come Whiskey for the holy ghost (1994) e Scramps at midnight (1998), che meriterebbe maggiore spazio e notorietà.
7 de abr. de 2022 · “The Winding Sheet” è il primo lavoro in studio che venne acclamato dalla critica in maniera esaltante che pose Lanegan come uno dei cantautori più sensibili e originali della sua generazione. ... che persuase Lanegan ad esplorare questo mondo e a cui partecipò nella stesura insieme anche a Kurt Cobain e Krist Novoselic.
