5 de ene. de 2018 · L.A. Guns shared bills with other similarly hungry hopefuls: WASP, Poison, Hollywood Rose, the latter fronted by a red-haired wildcat calling himself Axl Rose. Tracii initially met Axl via Hollywood Rose guitarist Izzy Stradlin’, who was crashing at Guns’ mom’s house.

But it wasn't always this way for the modern version of L.A. Guns. Years of estrangement between Lewis and Guns had led the band astray. After Guns left his namesake band in 2002, Lewis shuffled through several six-stringers but found himself unable to capture the unmistakable magic that he and his former cohort shared.

Black Diamond, their fourteenth album in total, is a blast of unadulterated hard rock that calls back to the Sunset Strip’s late-80s heyday without losing itself in nostalgia.
