The Sweet ist eine britische Rockband, die in der Besetzung Brian Connolly, Mick Tucker, Steve Priest und Andy Scott mit Hits wie The Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage, Blockbuster! oder Fox on the Run eine der erfolgreichsten Glam-Rock-Gruppen der 1970er Jahre war.So landeten sie 1975 ihren achten Titel an der Spitze der deutschen Charts, was bis dahin nur den Beatles gelang.
Met Scott als leadgitarist werd The Sweet de commercieel meest succesvolle Britse glamrockband van de jaren 1970. In 1978 werden de botsingen met de zanger van de band Brian Connolly te groot en Connolly werd uit de band gezet. Het succes van Andy Scott en de twee andere leden van The Sweet, Mick Tucker (drums) en Steve Priest (bas) verminderde.

The name was created after a suggestion, from his father Harry Scott, to find an anagram using the initials of each band member. The band played just 3 gigs! The first was at St Peter's Hall, Smithfield Road, Hightown, Wrexham in November.
