The following is Dance Data Project®’s fourth annual and most comprehensive study to date of the largest U.S. ballet companies. For the 2022 Report, the DDP research team produced rankings by size not only for the Largest 50 and Next 50, but also an Additional 50, thus ranking a total of 150 U.S. ballet companies.

For its 2024 ranking, College Factual looked at 3 schools in the United States to determine which ones were the best for ballet students pursuing a degree. When you put them all together, these colleges and universities awarded 43 degrees in ballet during the 2021-2022 academic year.
• American Ballet Theatre has risen from #6 back to their ranking of #3 from the 2021 report. • Ballet West moved into the Largest 10 ahead of Philadelphia Ballet. • Two companies, Orlando Ballet (#18) and Nashville Ballet (#22) have moved into the Largest 25.
