Thomas Barrow, usually referred to as just Barrow, is the former butler and long time servant at Downton Abbey, having previously worked there as junior footman, first footman, head valet, and under-butler, as well as serving in the army as a Corporal and later Lance Sergeant.
Thomas Barrow (played by Robert James-Collier) is under-butler at Downton Abbey and is a character who creates many conflicts. Maureen Lee Lenker of Entertainment Weekly described Barrow as one of the series' "most polarizing figures".
