Offered up in its original widescreen 2.20:1 ratio which at times seems deceptively wider only because of the long slow tracking shots of the Discovery in space. It's encoded at 1080p using the VC1 codec. Earlier releases of 2001 suffered badly from unacceptable transfers.
21 de ene. de 2023 · Warner Bros. handled the HDR10, Dolby Vision and color timing with Nolan and van Hoytema’s all-important input. The 4K Ultra HD is far superior to previous home releases, which were based on a 2K scan from a 35mm optical reduction of the 65mm negative. Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” has never looked better. 🛠.

(I know after all this time, where have I been etc) I had read a couple of articles, about 50th anniversary and still relevant after all this time etc. I wasn't overly impressed and found it a little slow and strange.

I recently purchased the fantastic 2001: A Space Odyssey on 4K UHD Blu-ray as I'd heard how outstanding it was; indeed watching it on my LG OLED, it does look absolutely fantastic, but playing it on my XBox One S the feature only plays in HDR not Dolby Vision as advertised on the sleeve.
