Elfen Lied is based on Lynn Okamoto's seinen manga series of the same name and premiered while the manga was still in publication. The anime follows the source material through the first 7 volumes, with several alterations to the story, and concludes with an exclusive ending.

Characters in Elfen Lied are almost all underaged, and, therefore, issues such as sexual exploration are almost ubiquitous. They are also, in some sense, archetypal. Conversely, characters such as Lucy or Kurama are very well-made.

The entire ending is encompassing the emotions that Kaede house is feeling moving on from Lucy missing in their lives. Coming to terms with the past, and finding their way of dealing with it.
7 de nov. de 2012 · Ok for starters, I am actually German, yo Lied gets pronounced as lead, so 'ie' gets pronounced as a long e. Plus After German Grammar the whole title should be one word so 'Elfenlied' even though it is distributed seperated. Jun 1, 2014 8:37 PM. # 20.
