Galt is a community in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Ontario on the Grand River. Prior to 1973, it was an independent city, incorporated in 1915, but amalgamation with the village of Hespeler, the town of Preston and the village of Blair formed the new municipality of Cambridge.
Galt is a beautiful quaint little area of Cambridge with many historical buildings, churches and a few shops to look around. The river is absolutely beautiful however Galt houses many homeless and shelters, addictions centers and safe injection sites.
17 de dic. de 2020 · Galt is one of those charming spots, located in Cambridge. Obviously, it’s not the same as being in Europe, but it will make you feel close enough. It’s a super rustic town unlike any other I’ve been to in Ontario. The downtown core of Galt is picturesque and filled with things to do.

9 de nov. de 2009 · Galt was a centre of Scottish settlement in Upper Canada. The first macadamized road in Upper Canada linked it to Hamilton in 1837. The Grand River provided abundant waterpower and during the 19th century Galt was a significant manufacturing centre.
