War and Peace (Russian: Война и мир, romanized: Voyna i mir) is a 1966–1967 Soviet epic war drama film co-written and directed by Sergei Bondarchuk, adapted from Leo Tolstoy's 1869 novel.
Based on Tolstoy's novel, the film depicts the love story of Natasha Rostova and Pierre Bezukhov amid the Napoleonic Wars. The film was shot in four parts and won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1966.
