7 de abr. de 2015 · This is why, with much regret, we must pass on the devastating knowledge that the founder of AVSIM, Thomas Verne Allensworth, has passed away. We want to send our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Thomas, as well as to the entire AVSIM community.

Tom Allensworth, CEO and Publisher of AVSIM, explained that the site used two servers to back-up the site's data, but that the hacker deleted the content of both, destroying the ability to use one server to restore the data of the other.
Tom was an intensely private man and has requested there be no funeral or memorial service. His wife Denise is honoring his wishes. He is survived by his sister, his brother, a host of nieces and nephews, and most sadly, his mother (my beloved grandmother).
4 de abr. de 2015 · Following the recent announcement that he was terminally ill, we are sad to have to pass on the news that Avsim founder Tom Allensworth passed away this morning.
4 de abr. de 2015 · Tom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the things he loved most: his wife, cats and AVSIM. He is survived by his wife, Denise Allenworth; mother, Retha Allenworth; brother, Steve Allenworth and wife, Linnea (Washington State); and sister, Linda Allen and husband, Rick (Georgia).
3 de sept. de 2020 · I haven't Messaged Tom since 2014. I recently got back into sims with MSFS 2020 and today i decided to message Tom to discuss all the things we wanted to see with graphics and systems simulation have taken a huge step up.
