May 21, 2002. On May 21, 2002, two months after the name change from DMA Design to Rockstar Studios and upon the release of PC version of Grand Theft Auto III, Rockstar Studios was changed to its current name Rockstar North. The logo used as Rockstar North has the Rockstar logo on a blue background.
Visuals: Superimposed over the opening of the game is the Rockstar North logo with white magnets above and below it. "A" in black is on the top magnet, while "ROCKSTAR NORTH GAME", also in black, is on the bottom magnets. The logo "flickers" a few times, and then fades out. Technique: 2D digital animation.
