Canine (K9) Unit. The K-9 Unit is a valuable asset to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office as well as other agencies within the county. Four specially trained deputies work with the canines every day they are on duty.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office Canine Unit is a part of the Patrol Bureau. Responsibilities include tracking of criminal suspects and lost persons, evidence recovery, bomb detection, drug detection, and general patrol duties.
K-9 Unit. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office takes great pride in its K-9 Unit because of the proficiency, ability and utility of the animal working in partnership with their handler. Our K-9 Unit answers calls for service on a daily basis.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol offers K-9 training aids for Ohio law enforcement to assist them in their on-going training.
Franklin County Sheriff's Office Therapy Dog Program. The FCSO Therapy Dog program features select canines and law enforcement personnel that are trained to provide victims with an outlet from the mental, physical, or psychological effects of experienced trauma.

The West Jefferson Police Department introduced a new unit last year, its first since 2018. The Plain City Police Department hopes to get another dog to succeed the K-9 that passed away last year.
