La banda se formó en el 2000 con el nombre de Listen, luego se lo cambiaron a Passerby donde grabaron 3 Ep, en el 2004 se volvieron a cambiar el nombre a Flyleaf donde grabaron 3 Ep más y su primer disco Flyleaf el disco llegó al número 57 del Billboard 200, El álbum fue certificado por la RIAA con el Disco de Platino.

Flyleaf has one full-length studio album and one EP with May. After a period of inactivity for several years, Lacey Sturm returned to the band in November 2022, and the band was renamed to Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm.
