Drayton es el padre de la familia Sawyer. Se trata del padre de Leatherface, que trabaja como dueño de un restaurante de chili y es aclamado por el excelente sabor de su carne, aunque nadie sospecha que se trate de carne humana.
Artículo principal: Cara de Cuero. Chop Top Sawyer. "Chop Top," es el hermano mayor de Cara de Cuero y gemelo de Nubbins. Su nombre no se sabe pero se cree que es Robert Sawyer (en una escena grita: "Dale a Bobby (diminutivo de Robert) una nueva placa!!"). Solo aparece en The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 y es interpretado por Bill Moseley.

The battle between the Sawyers and Lefty reaches a climax when a hand grenade, accidentally set off by Drayton, explodes and kills Grandpa, Lefty, Drayton and possibly Leatherface, as well as presumably destroying the puppet-like corpse of the Hitchhiker.
Drayton Sawyer, the cook, and the eldest brother in the family. Nubbins Sawyer, the most deranged member of the family, also known as the hitchhiker. Chop-Top, Nubbins' twin brother, and Vietnam War veteran. Leatherface, the youngest brother but the biggest physically due to his diagnosis of acromegaly.
Childlike Bubba ‘Leatherface’ Sawyer was the most infamous member of the family, killing the victims and preparing the meat for Drayton to whip up into a lovely chili. They lived with their wrinkly grandpa, a former slaughterman and probable mass murderer.
