A possible way to improvise the "apple corer" 915 input shaft seal removal tool is to use a pipe nipple if one can obtain one of the correct length and diameter. The sharp tapering threads on the end of the nipple would gradually screw into and grab the seal if they were the right size.
Manual transmission shafts typically have an input, countershaft and output shaft.
24 de mar. de 2024 · Replace the new o-ring after first placing a little bit of gear/transmission oil on the o-ring to lubricate it prior to installation. The second seal that needs to be replaced is the selector shaft seal. To replace this seal, you need to remove the selector knob off of the bottom of the shaft.
29 de ene. de 2024 · If your transmission is leaking fluid from the transmission rod seal, then you can easily replace it with the engine in the car. Joe Wolfgang sent me this procedure actually a day after I had just replaced the seal in the car, and had taken some pictures.

It has no problems except for leakage around the input shaft seal, which is replaced from inside the housing.
