Stevenage (/ ˈ s t iː v ən ɪ dʒ / STEE-vən-ij) is a town and borough in Hertfordshire, England, about 27 miles (43 km) north of London. Stevenage is east of junctions 7 and 8 of the A1(M), between Letchworth Garden City to the north and Welwyn Garden City to the south.
Stevenage is located in the county of Hertfordshire, Eastern England, five miles south-east of the town of Hitchin, and 27 miles north of London. Stevenage lies six miles south-east of the Bedfordshire border. Stevenage falls within the district council of Stevenage, under the county council of Hertfordshire. It is in the SG1 postcode district.
