La banda estaba compuesta inicialmente por Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn, Trey Spruance, Theo Lengyel y Jed Watts. The position was filled by Mike Patton's Mr. Bungle bandmate Trey Spruance, who left after recording 1995's King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime , just before the band was to begin its world tour. Spruance was replaced by Dean Menta , the band's keyboard tech.
