St John's College, formally the College of St John the Evangelist in the University of Cambridge, is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge, founded by the Tudor matriarch Lady Margaret Beaufort.

St John's College is located on the west side of the street, hence the name. The college has an impressive crenellated gatehouse entrance and the tower of the chapel dominates the scene at the north of the street. A medieval church, All Saints Jewry, stood in St John's Street. It was rebuilt in 1820 and then demolished in 1865. [3] .
St John's was founded in 1511 and is one of the largest Colleges in Cambridge. Its former students include Nobel Prize winners, Prime Ministers, scientists, artists, and leaders in business and industry.
St John's College Chapel. Until 2022, the choir followed the English cathedral tradition of men and boys. In October 2021 it was announced that, from 2022, the choir would admit girls and women. Such a decision has resulted in St John's being the only Oxbridge choir to have both boys and girls singing services together.
