Speed Racer, also known as Mach GoGoGo ( Japanese: マッハ GoGoGo ゴーゴーゴー, Hepburn: Mahha GōGōGō), is a Japanese manga about automobile racing created by Tatsuo Yoshida. It was originally serialized in print in Shueisha 's 1966 Shōnen Book. It was released in tankōbon book form by Sun Wide Comics and later re-released in Japan by Fusosha.
Synopsis. The Mach 5 is one of the fastest and most technologically advanced race cars built by man. Equipped with various gadgets and a powerful engine, it provides a challenge for anyone who would dare race against it. The driver of this amazing vehicle is Gou Mifune, a teenager who dreams of breaking into the world of professional racing.
While running from a tornado, Go, Mai, Wataru, Rocky and the Mach 5 hit 555 km/h and are transported 555 years into the future. They are met by Dr. Geppetto, who warns about Handler, a despot who rules over a dystopian future on the verge of running out of energy.
