Phase 7: 2022-Present. In July 2022, the band moved to Silver Lake, Los Angeles while Kong Studios was undergoing restorations. At that time Murdoc founded a cult, dubbed The Last Cult. Noodle eventually became convinced that the cult could be of good for good people and decided to go along with Murdoc’s "prophecy".
Phase 7: 2022-Present. In July 2022, the band moved to Silver Lake, Los Angeles while Kong Studios was undergoing restorations. During this time Murdoc became increasingly interested with the occult, and eventually founded a cult focusing on the supernatural, dubbed The Last Cult. 2-D was appointed as one of the high elders of the cult.
Basically announcing that this storyline and phase of Gorillaz has officially concluded. T'was a fun ride and I look forward to whatever Gorillaz bring us next, whenever that may be. I would assume that it will be in 2024 at the earliest, but is more likely to come to us in 2025 or 2026.
