The Princeton Triangle Club is a theater troupe at Princeton University. Founded in 1891, it is one of the oldest collegiate theater troupes in the United States. Triangle premieres an original student-written musical every year, and then takes that show on a national tour.
Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, with the help of several recent Princeton Triangle Club graduates, are performing four songs for which F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote the lyrics when he was an undergraduate at Princeton (1914 – 1916 ... he didn’t quite graduate with the class of 1917).
The history of the Princeton Triangle Club reflects many major social, cultural, economic, political, literary and theatrical trends in the United States during the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
A keen observer of the boys around him, Fitzgerald plotted a path to prominence. He wrote comedic sketches and poems for the Tiger and immersed himself in creating the annual musical comedy for the Triangle Club.

Or he made the choice, according to a note in his scrapbook, after watching Sam White race ninety-five yards with a blocked field goal to score the winning touchdown at the 1911 Princeton-Har vard game.
