On July 15, 2015, the band announced their next album, Better Nature. It was released on September 25, 2015. In 2017, they featured as the one-band soundtrack to Aisha Tyler's feature film directorial debut, Axis. Widow's Weeds and Physical Thrills (2018–present)
With that said, Better Nature is a powerful statement by the band. They prove their versatility with the explosively optimistic and dynamic closer, ‘The Wild Kind’, while proving that they still have a firm grasp on their traditional roots with the true-to-form ‘Nightlight.’

There’s a driving immediacy to the electro-rocker “Cradle (Better Nature)” that, despite its punch, is never pushed full-throttle. Ditto “Connection,” whose crunchy, filtered guitars punctuate and propel singer Brian Aubert’s subdued social commentary.
