There are many similarities seen between this "new" Rick and Shane. But I'd argue that the support of Shane during the first few sesons was probably split down the middle, while Rick's support remains unanimously in his favor. As far as differences, there aren't many.

I would choose Shane because he knows what he is doing; he has done nothing wrong; he just fell in love with Rick's family and wanted to make it his since he thought Rick had died; and because Shane is a better leader and, if possible, a better main character if he were the main character.
