Parasyte (寄生獣 Kiseijū?), es una serie de manga escrita e ilustrada por Hitoshi Iwaaki. Fue publicada en la revista Afternoon de la editorial Kōdansha desde el 22 de noviembre de 1988 hasta el 23 de diciembre de 1995. El manga fue primeramente publicado en Estados Unidos por Tokyopop, luego por Del Rey Manga y finalmente por Kōdansha Comics USA.
Sinopsis. Shinichi Izumi vive con su madre y su padre en un barrio bastante tranquilo, cuando, una noche, se produce una invasión extraterrestre. Los extranjeros son llamados parásitos. Se trata de gusanos que entran en las criaturas humanas a los que llaman "hosts" a través de sus orejas o la nariz, y hacerse cargo de sus cerebros.
The series follows Shinichi Izumi, a high school senior who is the victim of a failed attempt by a parasitic organism to take over his brain. The parasite instead infects and takes over his arm. The manga has been adapted into two live-action films in Japan, in 2014 and 2015.
