Leaving Ted at the altar was the best thing Stella ever did for Ted. Stella was in love with her ex and Ted wasn't exactly over his either. Neither of them noticed this or cared enough to talked about it. That relationship was going nowhere. She saved Ted a miserable marriage and a messy divorce. She's a hero in my books.
I think that Stella was so against Tony coming to their wedding because she knew there was a chance she would run off with him, and she projected those feelings onto Ted when he wanted to invite Robin, so Stella didn't want Robin to come either.
