The Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass (sometimes nicknamed the "Beatle Bass" or "Cavern Bass") is a model of electric bass manufactured by Höfner under several varieties. It was introduced in 1955 and gained celebrity status during the 1960s as the primary bass used by Paul McCartney of The Beatles.
Stuart Fergusson Victor Sutcliffe (23 June 1940 – 10 April 1962) was a British painter and musician best known as the original bass guitarist of the Beatles. Sutcliffe left the band to pursue his career as a painter, having previously attended the Liverpool College of Art .
11 de may. de 2020 · For their next show, at Litherland Town Hall on the 5 th of January 1961, McCartney played his first gig as The Beatles’ bass player. He turned his Rosetti Solid 7 electric guitar into a bass, using three piano strings, and he played it like this on at least twenty shows.
