Peruvian Amazonia (Spanish: Amazonía del Perú), informally known locally as the Peruvian jungle (Spanish: selva peruana) or just the jungle (Spanish: la selva), is the area of the Amazon rainforest included within the country of Peru, from east of the Andes to the borders with Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil and Bolivia.

Peru has hundreds of mammals including some rare species like the puma, jaguar and spectacled bear, that live in the canopy so jungle lodges usually construct towers to observe life above. The Pacific holds a bounty of sea bass, flounder, anchovies, tuna, crustacean ( crab or lobster ), shellfish and seals.
About 370,000 inhabitants live in Iquitos, but more and more foreigners and travellers have started coming here to enjoy the equatorial climate, the exotic and delicious locals delicacies, and more than anything, a visit to the jungle.
