Fit is one of the first typefaces available in the brand new OpenType variable font format. This format allows multiple font styles to coexist within a single file, which can greatly improve loading performance while providing easy access to Fit’s entire range of widths.
A little backstory... Reading code is a lot different than reading books. Input addressing the basic needs of programmers with easily-distinguishable characters, large punctuation, and generous letterspacing — all crucial elements for parsing dense onscreen code at small sizes.
David Jonathan Ross draws letters of all shapes and sizes for custom and retail typeface designs from his studio in the woods of Western Massachusetts. A native of Los Angeles, He began drawing typefaces at Hampshire College and joined The Font Bureau in 2007 where he honed his bézier-wrangling skills.
