Terenure College Senior School is a Voluntary Catholic Secondary School under the Trusteeship of the Irish Province of Carmelites. It is a fee-paying College for boys.

The Terenure College Chapel is an important place of worship, prayer and ministry in the Carmelite tradition. It serves the school community, as well as the wider community, past pupils and their families. The chapel is also home to the Terenure College Community choir.
Terenure College is a Carmelite-run secondary school located in the suburb of Terenure, Dublin, Ireland. The school was founded in 1860 and had an associated primary school until 2017.
The central focus of the Carmelites at Terenure was very much focused on the development of the College with its junior and secondary schools. The number of pupils on the roll increased gradually through the forties and fifties and more dramatically between 1950 and 1970.

It is the oldest Carmelite school in the order as well as being the largest in the province . It is not surprising that the Carmelites decided to open a school as they are heavily involved in education throughout their order.
