Novi Pazar is located in the valleys of the Jošanica, Raška, Deževska, and Ljudska rivers. It lies at an elevation of 496m, in the southeast Raška region. The city is surrounded by the Golija and Rogozna mountains, and the Pešter plateau lies to the west. The total area of the city administrative area is 742 km 2.
Novi Pazar (En serbio cirílico: Нови Пазар) es una ciudad y municipio situado en el distrito de Raška, en Serbia, en la región geográfica de Sandžak. Según el censo oficial de 2002, el municipio de Novi Pazar tenía 85.996 habitantes de los cuales 54.604 vivían en la ciudad.
Novi Pazar está en el sur de Serbia, muy cerca de la frontera con Montenegro. Es una antigua kasbah otomana emplazada junto al río Raška. Un enclave antiguo y, como todo en los Balcanes, diverso, ocupado sobre todo por musulmanes y cristianos ortodoxos. Con un patrimonio amplio y valioso y en medio de montañas, bosques y valles.
