Enugu (/ eɪ ˈ n uː ɡ uː / ⓘ ay-NOO-goo; Igbo: Énugwú) is the capital city of Enugu State in Nigeria. It is located inland in the Southeastern part of Nigeria. In 2006, the city had a population of 820,000 according to the last Nigerian census.
