Veronica Cartwright. Joan Marie Lambert [2] was the navigator aboard the commercial towing vehicle USCSS Nostromo. She was serving on the ship during its fateful voyage in 2122, when it encountered a Xenomorph on LV-426, an incident that eventually led to the destruction of the ship and the loss of all but one of its crew.
12 de feb. de 2023 · Played by Veronica Cartwright, Joan Lambert is the only other woman on the crew of the Nostromo aside from Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley. As the Xenomorph begins killing the crew one by one, Lambert snaps and is the first to suggest abandoning the ship.
21 de mar. de 2021 · One eagle-eyed Twitter user noted that the file of navigator Joan Lambert (played by Veronica Cartwright) reveals she was a male at birth and reassigned female. It's a small but meaningful reveal that places Lambert as one of the earliest transgender characters to appear in a blockbuster film.
She originally auditioned for the role of Ellen Ripley in Ridley Scott's horror classic Alien (1979), but had instead been cast as Joan Lambert. She disliked the character's emotional weakness, but nevertheless accepted the role.
