Synopsis. Chance (Peter Sellers) is a middle-aged gardener who lives in the townhouse of a wealthy man in Washington D.C. Chance seems very simple-minded and has lived in the house his entire life, tending the garden, with virtually no contact with the outside world.
Being there (titulada Bienvenido Mr. Chance en España, Un jardinero con suerte en México y Desde el jardín en Hispanoamérica) es una película estadounidense estrenada en 1979, dirigida por Hal Ashby y protagonizada por Peter Sellers. La película se basa en una novela del escritor polaco-norteamericano Jerzy Kosinski, publicada en 1971.
Plot. Middle-aged, simple-minded Chance lives in a wealthy old man's townhouse in Washington, D.C., along with the man's African-American maid Louise, who is kind to Chance. He has spent his whole life tending the garden and never left the property. Other than gardening, his knowledge is derived entirely from television.
