Built-in obsolescence became less of a fear, provided Roland stuck to their promise of future updates and upgrades. The release of the Super MRC software shows they have. It's available on its own for existing MC500 owners, or packaged with expanded hardware in the guise of the MC500 MkII.

Just curious if the Roland MC-500 mkII sequencer can do note-by-note step sequencing (inputting chords as well). Really want a hardware sequencer that can step sequence and can be programmed to handle different time signatures. Have no interest in real time recording at all.
19 de may. de 2020 · The MC-500 Mk II uses the R1 micro processor which can address 1 MB of RAM, with 756 KB fitted, and the subsequent MC-50 and MC-50 Mk II also use the same microprocessor giving the this micro composer a life span of nearly ten years.
