Requiem for a Dream (2000) es una película de Darren Aronofsky sobre la adicción y la muerte de los sueños. La película está basada en un libro del mismo título del escritor Hubert Selby Jr., publicado en 1978.
La historia comienza en verano con Sara, una viuda que vive en un departamento de Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Sara pasa la mayor parte del tiempo sentada frente al televisor viendo anuncios y un programa de concursos. Su otro entretenimiento es la comida, la cual la ha dejado (según ella) con sobrepeso.
