Java is required in order to run Minecraft. As such, until Java downloading is implemented, you will need to manually install Java to run Minecraft with Prism Launcher. Currently, we recommend heading over to Adoptium to install the latest versions of Java.

What is Prism Launcher? Prism Launcher is a custom launcher for Minecraft that was forked from MultiMC. It allows the creation, and management of multiple installations of the game, or "instances" rather, each having their own separate mods, resource packs, settings, and more.

Prism Launcher is a free and open source Minecraft launcher forked from the MultiMC project, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, as well as instances, each with their own mods, resource packs, and more!
Notable features in this release are advanced copy options, a downloader for resource packs, texturepacks and shaderpacks, a new improved progress dialog and support for exporting instances as Modrinth modpacks (.mrpack). This means that modpack authors can finally use Prism Launcher directly for making Modrinth modpacks.
