  1. 15 de sept. de 2018 · Mineral compositions and structures in soil clay fractions can reflect the pedogenesis and the pedoenvironments of the natural soils. However, the simultaneous quantification and structural analysis of all phases in soils by X-ray diffraction are difficult, mainly due to overlapping reflections.

  3. A summary of the mineralogical composition of the clay fraction for the red-yellow, red, and dark-red topsoils is shown in Table 8. Kaolinite was the main constituent of the clay fraction (33.8%) followed by gibbsite (23.4%), goethite and hematite (9.1%), amorphous Al 2 O 3 (4.0%), and amorphous SiO 2 (2.1%).

  4. 22 de ago. de 2017 · The data of soil clay and its mineralogical composition were gathered through a literature survey and aggregated by soil orders of the Soil Taxonomy for each of the ten groups: gibbsite,...

  5. 1 de jul. de 2021 · The study revealed that the dominant clay mineral in the clay fractions was kaolinite with highest percentage in clay fractions developed from basalt. Other minerals present were quartz, plagioclase, microcline, muscovite/illite, anatase, goethite, hematite, gibbsite, chlorite, and actinolite.

  6. 1 de ene. de 2016 · 1 Altmetric. Download reference work entry PDF. Clay is that size fraction of the soil that consists of particles of less than 2 μm equivalent spherical diameter. The minerals that usually predominate in the clay fraction are termed clay minerals or phyllosilicates (see Clay minerals: silicates ).

  7. 30 de sept. de 2021 · Soil clay minerals dominate the colloidal fraction and specific surface area () of soil. Clay minerals exhibit a wide range of microstructures and hydration responses that affect soil macroscopic hydraulic, chemical, and mechanical properties.
