Ansara played the recurring role of Killer Kane in the 1979–1980 season of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. [citation needed] He narrated Paul Goble's "The Gift of the Sacred Dog" at Crow Agency, Montana, on June 17, 1983, and Sheila MacGill-Callahan's "And Still the Turtle Watched" on October 21, 1993, on the PBS series Reading ...
In the 1979 pilot film, the role was played by Henry Silva while on the follow-up series, he was played by Michael Ansara. The two portrayals are somewhat different. Silva's Kane was much cooler and more calculating who often took a firm hand with Ardala whom he had designs on, romantically and/or politically.
Ansara played the villain Killer Kane in four episodes of the 1979-1981 sci-fi TV series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, on which Erin Gray and Tim O'Connor was a regular cast member.

To me, though, his two most pivotal performances came in black & white ("Soldier" on the original Outer Limits ) and cartoon color ( Batman: The Animated Series ' "Heart of Ice").
He also played Buck Rogers' evil adversary Kane on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979), and provided the voice of Mr. Freeze on Batman: The Animated Series (1992) and its spin-offs. Michael Ansara died at age 91 from complications of Alzheimer's disease in his home in Calabasas, California on July 31, 2013.
