Scotlands Flag – The St Andrew’s Cross. The Scottish flag also makes up part of the Union Jack with its diagonal white cross on a blue background. But did you know that Scotland has two flags? The flags of England and of Scotland are ancient war flags which became by usage the national flags of the Kingdom of England (which included Wales) and of the Kingdom of Scotland respectively and continued in use until the Act of Union 1707.

The flag consists of the red cross of Saint George ( patron saint of England, which also represents Wales ), edged in white, superimposed on the saltire of Saint Patrick (patron saint of Ireland ), also edged in white, which are superimposed on the saltire of Saint Andrew (patron saint of Scotland ).
