7 de ago. de 2021 · A late Kelechi Ihenancho penalty gave Leicester City the perfect start to the new season as they defeated Manchester City to win the FA Community Shield supported by McDonald's. Brought on late as a substitute, Ihenancho slotted an 87th minute penalty against his former club after he was fouled by Nathan Ake.
Liverpool obtained their FA Community Shield position by virtue of their victory in the 2021–22 FA Cup, having defeated Chelsea 6–5 on penalties following a 0–0 draw a.e.t. in the final. Manchester City won their spot after winning the 2021–22 Premier League.
